| Did it where is GPMC? I thought this would restore it to my Vista SP1 Machine. |

It does. Did you remember to turn on the RSAT feature, and to enable the view of Admin tools from the Start menu? |

Go to Microsoft.com/downloads
Search on
Vista Sp1 remote server tools
And you'll get two hits -- 32 and 64 bit. |

> Damn you Lenovo and your drivers from the Stoneage that won't let me upgrade!
Hey Aidan, what model are you using? I love my T61p and the HP-PSP-esq software that just sorts me out (are you listening Dell, you really, really need this). I'm running Windows Vista x64 Enterprise SP1 with zero problems, well other than having to use x86 IE7 half the time because there's no x64 ActiveX controls...

I'm at home today and the work machine is in the office. I think it's something like a 6000-N200 or something. I didn't pay much attention to it to be honest.
EDIT - actually, I've no idea what model it is. Didn't have time to look further into the issue. Got sucked into customer deployment, n/w reconfig and OM deployment. |

With the registry CSE and RSAT, the ability to do GPO based printer deployments while setting the default printer just made my week. No more scripts needed. :)

It's weird, but when I try to install it on my Vista Business system with SP1 installed at home, I get a "This update does not apply to your system"...?
The workstation is joined to my home domain (Windows 2003 R2 native mode), I'm logged in with Administrator rights...
Any thoughts?
It worked without a problem on my Vista system at the office -- also with SP1 installed, on a Windows 2003 R2 domain. From there, I'm able to modify GP's, etc., using RSAT.

| I'm getting that too but haven't had time to play with it. Do I need to be joined to a domain or something? |

I received the same message. I actually had to go to Program's and Features and install the RSAT tools from the "Turn Windows Features On/off" After that, they appeared. |

I downloaded the RSAT update from Microsoft again (download.microsoft.com) this morning and it worked without a problem this time. Don't know if they fixed it or if my initial download had issues...
Regardless, it's working fine now.

| I just installed it today.. I installed it on a Vista 64 bit system, I installed it, had to reboot... Then after the reboot I had to go to Programs and Features to enable RSAT. |
